Manufacturers, including OEMs, sub-contractors, and EMS (electronics manufacturing service)  companies with operations in the UK qualify to enter for this award. It will go to the manufacturer that has demonstrated the most impressive level of commercial success and executed new business projects in global markets over the past 12 months.

Best Electronics Workplace Award

Automotive / Hi-Rel Semiconductor Product of the Year

This award celebrates the achievements of design engineers in developing market specific end-products. It will recognise innovative product design which has had a significant impact in the automotive, military, avionics or space markets. This category is open to semiconductor design teams, manufacturers, component suppliers, cable, connector and LED manufacturers, software developers, embedded systems, power supplies and end-product OEMs.

Consumer Semiconductor Product of the Year

This award is for a digital, analogue or mixed signal semiconductor design which effectively meets the needs of a consumer product. Extra credit will be given to designs which efficiently manage power consumption, contribute to a reduction in the form factor of the end product or which enables an end product for the consumer market to be redesigned, differentiating it from existing, conventional consumer products. Medical Semiconductor Product of the Year

An award for a digital,  analogue or mixed signal semiconductor that demonstrates advanced technical capabilities which differentiate it from competitors’ products in the medical sector. This award will be presented for a product intended for use in smart buildings or smart cities. It covers RF and other wireless design, sensors and system level products that best demonstrate technical and design expertise using connectivity technologies and the IoT. This category will also consider security and encryption design for connected systems.

Neurodiversity Product Design Award

This award celebrates the achievements of design engineers in developing products specifically to support neurodiverse users. We are looking for the engineers who are already making a difference in the first years of their careers, or those who are still studying but showing the promise to become the innovators and leaders in electronics in the years to come. 

The nominee must be between 18-30 years of age and working or studying in the UK.

This year, we are particularly interested to hear from those who have:

  • Applied electronics know-how in the field of sustainability and the environment
  • Started their own business
  • Participated in STEM activities to spread knowledge, information and understanding
