Automotive / Hi-Rel Semiconductor Product of the Year
Automotive / Hi-Rel Product of the Year This award celebrates the achievements of design engineers in developing market specific end-products. It will recognise innovative product design which has had a significant impact in the automotive, military, avionics or space markets. This category is open to semiconductor design teams, manufacturers, component suppliers, cable, connector and LED manufacturers, software developers, embedded systems, power supplies and end-product OEMs.
To be eligible for this award, products must have been completed between 01 June 2025 – 31 May 2026
Best Electronics Workplace Award
An opportunity to showcase your workplace and company ethos. Companies may have introduced creative, practical or innovative work practices, incentives or workplace schemes that enhance employees’ work-life balance and enhance employee retention. We are looking for companies that have a culture of making the workplace energy-efficient and/or more conducive to employee productivity or wellbeing.
For your entry to be considered, the judges will want to see evidence of achievements between 01 June 2025 – 31 May 2026
Electronics Contribution to a Consumer Product
This award is for a digital, analogue or mixed signal semiconductor design which effectively meets the needs of a specific consumer product. The semiconductor should contribute significantly to the feature that differentiates the consumer product from others in its field. Extra credit will be given to designs which efficiently manage power consumption, contribute to a reduction in the form factor of the end product or which enables the end product to be redesigned differentiating it from existing, conventional consumer products. This category is open to semiconductor, PCB and sensor manufacturers. The entry must demonstrate how its use enhanced the performance of the consumer product.

Design Team of the Year
This award is open to the design teams at OEMs and design houses involved in product development projects. If you have made contributions to full or part-customisation of a design. It is also open to design teams who have created or modified a design for a specific use case, which demonstrates a team’s problem-solving skills and design expertise to meet form factor, weight or shape criteria.
Entries should include the description of a project which has taken place during the period 01 June 2025 – 31 May 2026.
Design Tool and Development Software Product of the Year
An award for the hardware and software design tool, application, hardware or software IP that demonstrates technical capabilities which differentiate it from competitor products.
To be eligible for this award, products must have been completed between 01 June 2025 – 31 May 2026
EW BrightSparks 2026
We are looking for young engineers who are already making a difference in the first years of their careers, or those who are still studying but show promise to become the future innovators and leaders in electronics. In addition to outstanding electronics engineering skills, BrightSparks demonstrate an enthusiasm to innovate and share their skills, ideas and enthusiasm for STEM with others in and out of the workplace.
The nominee must be between 18-30 years of age and working or studying in the UK.
Educational Support Award
This award will be presented to a company that demonstrates a commitment to the education of future engineers by providing support to schools, colleges, or universities. Support can be in the form of equipment, mentor programmes or workplace initiatives to encourage an interest in STEM careers, facilitate a route to careers in STEM or support for events which introduce STEM subjects in an engaging way,
Entries should include the description of a project which has taken place during the period 01 June 2025 – 31 May 2026.
Entrepreneurial Star (under 35)
Electronics Weekly is looking for talented young electronics entrepreneurs* (under 35 years of age) who have started a business or spun out a business unit from a company or university. Entrants may be solo or partners must have identified a gap in the market and demonstrate how he or she has met this need with one or more innovative products based on electronics design. In addition to innovative business ideas, we want to hear about entrepreneurial credentials such as bold but sound business practices and a drive to grow the company.
To be eligible for this award, the submission must relate to achievements made in the past 12 months (01 June 2025 – 31 May 2026).
* Business partnerships are eligible as long as one partner is 35 or under.
Manufacturer of the Year
Manufacturers, including OEMs, sub-contractors, and EMS (electronics manufacturing service) companies are eligible to enter for this award*. The award will go to the manufacturer that has demonstrated the most impressive level of commercial success, introduced an innovative process and/or executed new business projects in global markets over the past 12 months.

Passive/Interconnection/Electromechanical Product of the Year
An award for a passive or electromechanical component demonstrating technical capabilities that elevate it for specific applications or differentiate it from its competitors. NB: Wireless RF connectivity products are not eligible for this category.

Power Semiconductor Product of the Year
This award is for the power semiconductor design that contributes to a product’s energy-efficiency, optimises PPA, while managing the demands of voltage, current and thermal management. The design should demonstrate technical capabilities which differentiate it from its competitors.

Rising Star Award
Electronics Weekly is looking for a talented electronics engineer or designer who is currently in the first five years of their career in the industry. He or she may have either a graduate or apprentice background and be working in any position and at any level. Companies and universities can enter candidates who demonstrate a high level of practical skills and problem-solving and who have actively contributed to the business.
Entries should demonstrate their ability to problem-solve while working on a project which has taken place during the period 01 June 2025 – 31 May 2026
Smart Buildings Product of the Year
This award will be presented for a product intended for smart, secure smart buildings or smart cities. The proliferation of edge AI devices and the evolution of IoT nodes, means that more devices are connected for communication across private, commercial and enterprise buildings and even in metropolitan-wide networks for smart, secure surveillance, tracking, monitoring systems. The category applies to wireless communication products, comms systems, sensors, cameras, lighting and security systems.

Start-up of the Year
We are looking for exciting hardware or software design tool companies (NOT app developers or SaaS companies). Entrants will have identified a gap in the market and met this need in an accessible, practical and economical way. Judges will look for evidence that a company is building a business to be competitive in global markets, in electronics design, manufacturing or distribution.

The Futurist Award
Reflecting the changes in our industry, this award is open to design projects and products for use in new and emerging applications e.g., AI, VR/AR, robotics/humanoids, mobility, health, leisure, wearable, printed and flexible electronics. We are particularly interested in the capabilities that a design brings to the end user, for example in enhancing mobility, meeting educational needs or supporting neurodiversity.

Automation Product of the Year
*NEW *
This category recognises robotics and automation systems and their component parts which have accelerated automated operations. Components such as sensors as well as cameras, vision systems, motion systems, motors and processors that enhance operation will be eligible. Judges will be looking for evidence of how the entry contributes to enhanced, energy-efficient operation in intelligent automated or robotic systems.
To be eligible for this award, products must have been completed between 01 June 2025 – 31 May 2026
RF/Wireless Product of the Year
*NEW*
An award for a digital, analogue or mixed signal semiconductor, component or sub-assembly that enriches a product’s RF/wireless capabilities. Products can be used in a variety of applications, from comms to medical/wellness and integrated into boards or SoCs. Extra credit will be given for an entry which creates a new product category by virtue of its enhanced RF or wireless performance.
To be eligible for this award, products must have been completed between 01 June 2026 – 31 May 2026.
