Companies and individuals may submit entries on their own behalf, or on behalf of other individuals or organisations, including colleagues, industry peers, suppliers or clients.

If submitting on someone else’s behalf, please ensure you have their permission to do so.

Absolutely! However, we do advise that you run the entry through your clients for approval before you submit the entry.

The eligibility period for all entries is July 2019 to September 2020.

The Categories

Any size of organisation - Elektra Awards have been won by one-person consultancies, SMEs and multi-nationals.

Entries must be submitted in English.

This is really up to you so long as you meet the criteria for that particular entry.

You may already be particularly proud of something (or someone) this year, or you can seek inspiration from the Elektra Awards category list.

Read the appropriate category entry criteria for guidance on what the judges are looking for.

Use your word count allocation to answer and support with facts and figures the product/person/service/company you are entering.

A great work of literature is not required, but write clearly because the judges are only human.

Bear in mind the word count allocation and keep to the point: "Company X, globally renowned supplier of high-performance Product Y and the 'You Know it Makes Sense' company, focused on solving your time-to-market challenges...." will waste at least 20 words of your allocation.

No. You may only enter once into any one category. If you put more than one entry in a single category, only one of them will be presented to the judges. This entry will be chosen arbitrarily.

A data sheet or diagram is legitimate supplementary information, as is a photo or diagram that explains something about the entered person, product, service or company.

When categories allow links to videos, the maximum video length is two minutes.

Do not submit a press release - any relevant information should already be described within in the word count allocation.

Do not send entire PowerPoint presentations - but a single diagram extracted from one might be relevant.

Do not send web links to company websites. Do not send web links to product pages. A link to a web page that is a result of a project that is the subject of an entry might be relevant

    General

The Elektra Awards are a ceremony where companies and individuals are rewarded and recognised for their excellent performance, innovation and contribution to the global electronics industry. These awards also provide a platform for like-minded and key industry professionals to gather in one place to network, share ideas and celebrate the achievements of the industry.

19 years after its debut, the Elektra Awards still embrace the reputation for being a prestigious and credible awards ceremony and remains an annual highlight in the electronics industry events calendar.

Each year, the Elektra Awards attracts over 500 attendees from more than 150 companies from all sectors of the global electronics industry. The guest list comprises influential C-suite decision makers as well as the teams who contributed to the projects and innovations nominated. PR agencies, the Electronics Weekly editorial and sales team and, of course, our highly respected and independent panel of judges are also in attendance.

By entering the Awards, you have the opportunity to assess your business from a different perspective. You will be able to evaluate whether your technology, company performance and current business practices and processes give you a competitive advantage over your competitors.

Entering also allows you to benchmark your company against others within the industry and helps you to identify where you may need to improve and how you can go about doing so.

Entering the Elektra Awards, and especially winning, allows your business to acknowledge the hard work and dedication exhibited by its employees to make the business a success. Employees will be motivated to keep working hard and contributing to the business’s success if they know that you truly value them and that they are rewarded for their efforts.

Winning an award also aids businesses in attracting and retaining top-class talent. Who wouldn’t want to work for a company that is seen as the best of the best in the industry?

Becoming an Elektra Awards winner is also seen by the global electronics industry as one of the most prestigious accolades a company or individual can receive.

Furthermore, winning your category at the Elektra Awards acts as a third party endorsement for your company as it increases your credibility amongst industry peers and positions you as an expert in your particular field – nationally and globally. Taking home the coveted title also clearly differentiates you from your competitors and gives you an edge when acquiring or retaining customers or suppliers.

By winning an Elektra Award (or even just by being shortlisted) your business will be exposed to many marketing and PR opportunities. Electronics Weekly provides free publicity as we highlight both the winners and shortlisted companies and individuals in our magazine in the run up to, and after the Elektra Awards.

In addition, your business will be seen as setting the industry standard for a particular category which may, in turn, lead to breaking into new markets, acquiring new clients as well as earning greater respect and credibility amongst your existing customer base.

Your business also will be exposed to increased publicity (including enhanced brand recall and increased traffic to the website and social media pages), especially winning an award from and being associated with a highly respected and well established awards scheme such as the Elektra Awards.
